What’s that sound in my ear? Oh wait, it’s Scratch Camp! For this week, we’re experimenting with sounds and music!
Perhaps you're learning an instrument or have played one for a while, in which case this is a great time to showcase your skills. You could play a song that you’ve learned, or compose your own song! Maybe make your own instrument or band with things around your house. Or maybe you don’t play an instrument (or would rather make music digitally). Playing around with note blocks and sounds in the Scratch library are lots of fun! Make a new song or create a cover and share it with the community! Our ears are itching to hear what you’ll create!

Looking for ideas? Here are a few suggestions to help you get started!
A few things to try in the physical world:
- Record yourself playing a song
- Make a musical instrument out of recycled materials
- Find sounds around your house, record them, and use them as sound effects in a game
Interested in exploring sounds and music through the digital world? Here a few things to try:
- Design a new instrument
- Play with sound blocks to make a song
- Create an imaginary band
Or you can make whatever you can imagine! Whether you play with sound and music in the physical world or digitally, be sure to share a link to your project with us and we’ll be sure to take a look.
Made something in the physical world and aren’t sure how to share it? Here are some suggestions to help you get started: photos or your creation, an interactive drawing to represent what you made, step by step descriptions of how you made it, a tutorial so other people could try to make it as well, etc!
Special thanks to our amazing counselors!
