5 girls, Seimei Majutsu(Cure Coral),
Mizu Fushigi(Cure Aquamarine),Chikyu Uchiki(Cure Peridot), Kasai Moeru(Cure Amber), and Kuro Suimin(Cure Obsidian) are enlisted by a red swan with a blue flower on her forehead named Iro to find 5 talismans as the legendary warriors Precure. These talismans were scattered by The Shadows, who want to control all worlds, including Earth. Iro was sent from Color City, a magical world of light to find the Precures and stop The Shadows. The Precures transform using Cure Compacts and saying "Precure, reveal my colors!" They transform into "The emblem of light, a holy gleam, Cure Coral!", "The emblem of water, an amazing miracle, Cure Aquamarine!", "The emblem of earth, a calming power, Cure Peridot!", "The emblem of fire, a raging storm, Cure Amber!", and "The emblem of air, a mysterious void, Cure Obsidian!". "The rainbow of light in the sky, we are Prism Precure!" The Shadows are ruled by the Queen of the Night and are made up of Kataiju, Kokkaku, the twins Jaaku and Waru, and Kanashi, all of whom are capable of summoning possessing monsters called Shitsubo by using a darkened heart card.
