Have you ever experienced trans or homophobia? If so, how did it feel?
QOTM: have you read any good books about gender or transgendered people or anything? what books would you most recommend to people questioning their gender?
TRANS PEOPLE TELL THEIR STORIES!
hi <3! this is where managers tell their stories about coming out! you can add your section any time you want. it can be like a blog, or you can just tell 1 story! all up to you. just no editing other peoples' sections or you will be kicked out of the studio and in severe cases reported!
@nsh_mosto's story: it all started when I was 3. I didn't even know what transgendered meant at that point even though my mom is an MTF trans women, but already most of my friends were boys. well one time when I was playing with my bff, a boy, this girl I barely knew walked up to me and said "ew! why are you playing with *my bff's name*?! he has boy cooties!" my bff looked at me, confused. "is there something you forgot to tell me?" he asked. "go away!", I yelled, "me and *bff's name* are just trying to play peacefully in the sandbox! spare your hate for someone who cares!" yep. I was a pretty fussy 6-year-old.
fast forward a little bit. in 3rd grade, I asked my mom if I could get my hair cut. she agreed. I was tormented by the girls in my class as soon as I walked in the door next day. I almost ended my life, but some of the only female friends I have saved me. skip forward to 4th grade. corona started. that was a real wake-up time for me. my female friends were all upset because they couldn't go b-r-a shopping. I was so relieved.
I will always remember seeing that slide on the Zoom expectations slide show that broke my heart:
dress ready to start the day. no pajamas except on pajama day. shirts required for girls.
I realize that I skimmed right over that last bit as though it didn't apply to me. then I did a double take.
