How to locate an unshared project

- Try to find it through your browser history or the Wayback Machine (google it). Then you can take the project ID of the dead link and put it into https://llk.github.io/scratch-gui/master/#id_goes_here

If you use the Wayback Machine, you have to go to Scratch users' profiles and hope that they shared/favorited the project around when their profile was saved.
