GUYS THIS ISN'T A WAR WITH THE DON'T STOP GENERIC PLATFORMERS STUDIO THIS IS A PLACE WERE WE CAN TALK ABOUT HOW ITS ANNOYING AND PROTEST, NOT BE MEAN TO OTHERS - @TimeDragon0
A lot of people have been saying this, so I put it higher in the description: generic platformers are fine if you are a beginner, but if you have already mastered platformers, and are doing it for popularity, then it becomes a problem
Stop making generic platformers, they are all the same and I'm getting sick of them. Invite your followers to spread the word!
PROMOTE ALL CURATORS!!!! Post reasons why we should stop or reduce the amount of generic platformers here:
People are basically making platformers that are EXACTLY IDENTICAL to other projects, which is plagiarism, and then they get popular. I often go to explore to see some new and fun games, but I see platformers that look awfully familiar...
you can always deletePs. Search "Journey - a platformer" You will get a LOT of results.
Please don't delete other people, add projects not related to the studio, advertise, or change the studio description other than manager chat and reasons why we should stop.
Quotes (Feel free to add more):
"Generic platformers are plain and incredibly easy to make after you have made your first platformer. Unique platformers are encouraged, generic platformers are typically not an issue if they do not get noticed by a wide range of audience. However, if generic platformers and rip-off platformers do become popular, that would be unfair.
Scratch is about creativity. Just because many people like generic platformers, it doesn't mean that you should strive for popularity and not incorporate creativity into your projects. Also, Scratch is about improvement, it is not okay for an experienced platformer creator to repetitively create generic platformers because that is not a sign of improvement nor is it creative thinking.
It is completely okay for beginners to create generic platformers, I'm not against that :)
StGP is neither hate nor spam. StGP discourages unwholesome projects to be shared on Scratch, which is beneficial to the community. Also, Scratch is about creativity and improvement. It is totally fine for beginners to create generic platformers, StGP is not against that. However, it is not okay if an experienced platformer-maker repetitively creates generic platformers because it does not show that he/she is being creative or improving his/hers skills.
Also, generic platformers generally take less effort to create, it is unfair when generic platformers become popular or front-paged while non-generic platformers go unnoticed. Scratch isn't about popularity or fame. #StGP only applies to experienced platformer creators, not beginners. Experienced platformer creators shouldn't keep on creating banal and non-creative platformers because this is unwholesome to the Scratch community. Please, for the benefit of Scratch, support StGP.". - @MatchaVanillaArt
