@LimeBoi4 and I ( @Taylorkitten13) have recently been talking, and I learned that he builds temporary homes for stray cats, so I thought, why not make a studio about them?
- You may suggest people to invite. We want as many people as possible to help raise awareness.
- Please do not change the description, change the icon, or add non-relating projects. Also, please do not delete projects that relate to the cause of this studio.
- Please do not spread spam advertisements! If people don't want to join, please don't bug them! People can choose to join!
- Only @Taylorkitten and @Fionnbaloo can promote people
INTRO: Did you know that there are roughly 100 million stray cats in the world? There are about 7.6 billion people in the world, so shouldn't there be enough homes for them? 60 million of stray cats live in the U.S and 9 million in the U.K. Right now, it's winter in both of those places. 69 million cats are freezing in both the U.S and the U.K. And you can do something about it.
HOW CAN I HELP? To help, you can make a shelter for cats. How do you make a shelter for the cats, you ask? The steps are written below: - First, find a cardboard box. It should be able to fit 1 - 3+ cats, but with a small enough space to keep in heat. However, stray cats can be territorial, so a more sheltered tunnel box home (use 2+ boxes) will give stray cats a way to leave quicker if needed. Put the cardboard box on the side, so the opening is facing you. - Cover the opening with a plastic flap, it should help repel rain, wind, and snow. - Next, cover the bottom with a Mylar blanket.
a form of polyester resin used to make heat-resistant plastic films and sheets.
-If you don't have a Mylar blanket, use a towel or something similar. Make sure to put leaves on top of the towel though. The leaves will help insulate the shelter, since towels soak up moisture.
-Insulate the shelter with straw, not hay. Hay also soaks up moisture, making the shelter colder.
-Place the shelter outside (unless it already was).
Check out the projects section for more information on how to help stray cats! Also, feel free to make one and suggest it to be added. We'd love to hear more ways to help stray cats!
