Support for the SMC is one of the most widespread things as I can tell right now so it's obvioulsy not dead. Even if it's not the old SMC anymore there is still a community of mappers on scratch.

don't hate me?
My Prospective:
I'm fairly new to the community so just think of me as an outsider looking in. I wasn't there while the drama really went down, so I have all the facts to look back at now. The way I see it, the SMC was a large community of mappers who shared projects, had RPs, and did alot together. It was a large community, but in 2018 it began to decline. Scratch was losing users, so consequently, the SMC was losing users. It became less and less active, and even through 2019 it wasn't very active. So, some of the most popular/infulential people in the SMC decided to shut it down. However, the still very active members had no say in this at all, and I think they should have. Many of the people of the community have still stuck together, so the community never really died, it was just the idea of the SMC that did. The community is still very much alive and I beleive we should recreate a community officially to unite our community.
