I feel like Scratch has been a little down lately.

People are leaving left and right, not because of busy schedules but because of bullies.

This isn't okay. Coders love sharing their talents with people all over the world on Scratch. If people are able to make them upset enough to give that up, we can't just say goodbye.

We need to stop these bullies.

I've seen some people trying to stop them. I appreciate their effort. Their ways, though, aren't respectful.

They're are calling the bullies jerks. They're telling the bullies they're stupid.

I don't understand. If you are telling a bully not to bully but call them an idiot in the process, nobody's on your side anymore. You've become a bully also.

Another thing to note: We're online. You don't know the bully. Something could be wrong in their life. They might be in a bad mood because of it, or jealous of your happiness, and want you to feel as terrible as they feel.

Once, I asked a bully why they were being so mean to me. I said, "Hey, you're not being very nice. Is something wrong?"

Guess what they said. "Yeah. My dad is suffering from a car crash."

I'm not sure if this is true, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. They said they were sorry.

So calling people a jerk when they bully really doesn't help anyone.

I'm not saying it's okay to bully if you're upset. I'm just saying people aren't plain mean.

I get all of this unhappiness doesn't just come from Scratch. People's parents are getting divorced. I've heard about some deaths recently.

People might not have anyone to talk to.

I get it is a little weird to ask people online for comfort, but here we are.

❁ No adding irrelevant projects. This studio is for projects that talk about kindness, a problem you might be having, or bullying.

❁ Everyone here will be respected. No exceptions. You might think they are sad for a bad reason, but telling them does nothing but make them feel worse.
