Scratch on non-smart phones

Just thought I would put the idea out there.

This is far from finished, but it may be possible to put a Scratch 1.4 player/compiled project onto a non-smart phone via J2ME, since scratch 1.4 has a player coded in Java. I'm not sure how easy/hard it would be to port though. I tried just a file compiled with ZeroLuck's compiler plain (packaged for installation on J2ME devices, but nothing else changed), but got an error when running the program. (Tested on Motorola RAZR v3)

This would allow anyone who doesn't have a smartphone to create apps for their phone.

I don't really think it's worth it. Technology is evolving and soon the only phones we'll have would be either iOS, Android, or Blackberry with the occasional cheap man's phone.

No I don't make projects anymore. I left some time ago.
I only check the forums every now and then, but other than that consider me retired.

^ +1. also, if you can make programs for it, then it's at least somewhat smart.

Remember when I looked like this? I still do.

If you're still interested in trying this, Zeroluck and I wrote a scratch-like editor in java about a year ago. https://github.com/TRocket/JBlocks Try comiling that against J2ME and tell me if you get any errors…

A person.
