The snow crunched beneath my feet as I walked through the deserted field. I don’t really know how long I’ve been out here, I just know that it’s been a while. The moon glowed through the clouds as my foot sunk into the deep snow once again. I was freezing and ready to get this journey over with. This field was known to be bad luck. Many people have been known to go missing here. Now that I think about it, only one person has ever gotten out of here alive, but they were later found in their own house torn to shreds. I remember seeing it on the news. The dread that came over me knowing that the person lived a couple of houses away from me. As I remembered that, my stomach grew uneasy. I stopped in my tracts and crouched down to rest. My eyes gazed around the field in front of me, afraid that I may never make it to the end. That's when a big gust of wind blew and it started to snow more. If the night kept going like this, I might suffocate in the snow before I had a chance to get out. I sighed and started to walk again.
After a while, I started to have trouble walking through the snow that was now up to my thighs. I started to loose hope of getting out. That's when I heard a young child’s laugh. I jumped and looked over my shoulder. “H-hello?” I said wearily. “Hi Mister!” The voice said. It didn’t seem to come from one place. The echo almost surrounded me. “Do you wanna play a game?” The child said. I could now see the figure of a little girl in front of me, but somehow she wasn’t sunken in the snow. “Are you lost little girl?” I asked, frozen in my tracts. “You Didn’t Answer My Question, Mister!” She said angrily as I felt something like hands wrap around my ankles. “A-ah! Yes, Yes, I’ll Play A Game!!!” The hands squeezed my ankles and I grinded my teeth. Her icey blue eyes almost glowed in this dark, blizzard filled night. “Oh, that’s Great!!! How about Hide And Seek? You can hide first, mister!” I winced. If that didn’t sound like a murder was about to happen, I don’t know what does. I tried to break myself free from the hands’ deadly grip, but it was no use. “You’re gonna have to let go of me so I can hide, ok?” I said, ready to make a run for it. “Oh yes. You sure are smart!” She said happily and the hands let go. I let a breath out as she began to count slowly. Her voice starting out in a deep, ominous whisper. I began to run for my life. I ran past her, knowing that I had a better chance of going that way than heading back. When she hit 10, I almost yelped. “Ready or not, here I come!” She said happily. I kept running, pretty much jumping through the snow. “Mister, are you trying to run away?” I heard her eerie voice echo around me once more as I saw light in the distance. I ran faster than ever.
She didn’t chase after me, which I knew was weird. But I didn’t really pay attention to that, I just focused on getting out of this field. As I reached the end of the field, I could clearly see the massive farm house. I ran and ran, knowing that if I got away, I would be safe. I knocked on the door of the house, looking for help. I heard footsteps from inside get closer and closer to the door. I let out a sigh of relief. That's when these dark gray, wrinkly hands with razor sharp nails grabbed my shoulders from behind. My eyes grew wide as the nails dug into my flesh and pulled me away from the door. “Found you…” Chills ran down my spine as I heard her whisper. She pulled me further and further into the snow, muffling my screams. The man in the farm house opened the door and looked around. He then closed the door, not seeing anyone there. I teared up, my only hope leaving. The hands wrapped around my throat as the little girl appeared above me, grinning menacingly, her eyes piercing through me. “Goodbye Mister…” She whispered as everything went black...
NEWSPAPER- Man found dead in Lunburge Field this morning by a horrified farmer. Detectives say that he died from hypothermia after staying in the snow for too long during a blizzard even though he had puncture wounds on his neck and shoulders and bruises around both of his ankles. The farmer, who does not want his name to be revealed, said that for a second he saw a little girl dragging the same man away from his house last night. When he looked back through his window, they were both gone. He also stated that he will never forget that child’s inhuman eyes. Police are now searching for the little girl that the farmer says he saw with the unidentified man. If seen, police ask that you please call crime stoppers at the number below.
