    » FAQ
    Q: What is Ideoxan?
A: Ideoxan is an open source and free to use website being developed by a team of 2 people. Its goal is to help students and various other people learn programming

Q: When will it be released?
A: Well technically the project is already publicly available due to the fact that it is open source. However our official launch will be sometime soon.

Q: Where are you hosting the source code?
    A: On our github! github.com/ideoxan

Q: Why should I care about this?
    A: :(

Q: Aren't there alternatives to this already? What makes this site stand out from things like Codecademy, CodeHS, Khan Academy, Code.org (and even scratch)?
A: Yes, there are a multitude of alternatives. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference on what site you choose. Ideoxan is meant to be interactive, fun, and easy to use. Our lessons will guide the students through interactive activities that provide constructive feedback and rewards when completing work. While only focusing on the development of our website development and introduction to JavaScript at first, our catalogue will expand to a variety of languages (including, but not limited to SQL, Python, Node.js, JS Full Stack, Introduction to Databases and Management, Go, Rust). This is entirely script based but the curriculum will help ease students into text-based programming due to its nature.

Q: Why not make Scratch but better
A: Calicode never happened. Calicode? What? Never heard of it.

    Q: Can I contribute?
A: Sure! Feel free to reach out to us about opportunities or make a PR request on the proper repo

Q: Why not just use Scratch instead?
A: This tool was designed to help people move away from the block-based, childish mindset Scratch has while also providing an educational experience.

Q: Are there plans to create a community around Ideoxan? Can we share our projects?
A; While we are making it so users can create sandboxes (projects without lessons) we do not have any confirmed plans to create a social aspect of the platform at this point in time.

Q: Can I get a cookie for reading this far?
A: Yes, yes you can :D

Q: What is planned for the curriculum?
A: At first only the Introduction to JavaScript course and the Fundamentals of Web Design course will be offered. Our catalogue will expand soon after our launch.

Q: What technologies are you using? How are you programming this?
A: If you haven't already, check out our repository which will fully detail all of this. Our backed will be programmed in entirely JavaScript running on the Node.js runtime. To run the server Express.js along with several other middlewares/packages/libraries are used. For database management we are using MongoDB and mongoose as our driver. Firebase will be used to authenticate users who wish to use external methods of authentication (not needed as courses will be free and open to the public). For our site we are using normal HTML and CSS. The libraries used in JavaScript will vary but as of now we are using jQuery, the Ace code editor library, JS-Interpreter, Material Design Icons and a couple of other libraries.

    Q: Can I be curator?
A: Sure! Just don't add any projects
